BOOK REVIEW GUIDELINES!

KIDS BOOK PICKS REVIEW GUIDELINES

Are you ready to have your book reviewed FOR FREE by an experienced early childhod educator and kids creating writing mentor? If so, welcome and read on!

Welcome fellow Children’s Authors to our Book Review Page and congratulations on authoring some very important creation(s) for our littles! I say creations as I’m looking forward to meeting the story characters in your book and learning about their adventures and how they will impact myself along with all of the educators and children who are lucky enough to also experience your book!

The way these reviews will work is once accepted, I will initially review each title and afterwards they will be gifted to an early learning program of some sort for a classroom review. My name is Lorrie Holmes and I am a licensed early childhood educator who has worked in many different early learning environments and since then, I have become and early learning reporter and content creator! Here are just a few stories to show you the depth of my experience and exposure to these environments. Let me start off with a story I wrote as the managing editor (which I currently am) for BC Parent Magazine on choosing the correct early learning environment for your kiddos as these are the places I would start with when passing on your book for a second review once I’m done with it which is where it will end up: at a children’s centre of some sort! Next I have included a Day In The Life Story to show you have I am reviewing early learning programs – I did start with an outdoor program and next on my list is Asland Academy in Richmond and this story will be out this Friday which I will add to this paragraph once I have the link. In the meantime, here is a cute link to a reel I created for them this week while visiting their centre! In addition to individual reviews on books and early learning programs, I am also about to start creating my own curriculum kits for various early learning themes which will include books and other early learning resources for classrooms and these curriculum kits will be given away on social media to early learning centres in the Greater Vancouver area where I live and announced in both Kids News & Reviews and BC Parent! You can view more of my portfolio in my Early Learning Digital Marketing Agency here!

Below are a very different ways that your books can be reviewed by us and at the bottom, I have added additional options for authors who I have already worked with on these free reviews, to collaborate on some sponsored content if we both decide we would like to keep working together!

As a children’s author, if you would like to check out the launch story on one of my books that was sponsored to all of the childcare centres in Delta, BC, where I live, you can view it here! You can also check out an article I wrote about Creativity And Play for kids which also included creative writing, so I certainly feel confident that I can create awesome valuable reading lists for teachers and creative arts instructors who are wanting to delve a little deeper into character development and the context and meaning of each title they share with kids and youth!

If you are a children’s author and/or illustrator who is wanting to explore different publishing option and to keep up-to-date on this year’s most internationally recognized writing & publishing contests, I would strongly recommending picking up the latest editing of this book! You can also view others on my Amazon Top Book Picks that I am curating and I would be happy to add yours soon which I can do if it’s a good fit to be reviewed by me!

SHOUTOUT ON INSTAGRAM FOR ALL CHILDREN’S AUTHORS

I am happy to offer shut outs for children’s authors and illustrators, regardless of where or not I’m reviewing your book, when they fit in with my feed! What I mostly look for here is sweet, thoughtful provoking, and timely sentiments that support the social emotional growth of children and that also works within my themes. I will be posting themes throughout the year – right now I am focused on the theme of love – especially self love – and kindness for Valentine’s Day and then will be moving into bunnies & baby chicks for easter! What I would suggest here is to DM any quotes and/or illustrations you would like me to consider posting on my feed and/or in stories. This is the one category where I can afford to collaborate with you with no cost to you! I DO ALSO WRITE A LOT OF KIDS POETRY FOR ECE SO IF YOU SEND ME AN IMAGE THAT INSPIRES ME, I MIGHT REACH OUT TO YOU TO SEE IF I CAN HAVE YOUR PERMISSION TO WRITE A POEM TO GO WITH IT IN A SHUT OUT!

BOOK REVIEWS – NO FEES!

If you would like a your children’s book reviewed by me, feel free to send me a request to review your book and I will respond to you if the timing works out and it is a good fit for us. You can email your requests to me at lyricalwriters@gmail.com.

There are no fees to have your books reviewed by us! If you decide you would like to book a sponsored story with us to promote your book or run a give-away, you can also do that after we review your book (for free!) so we are very familiar with every title that is being shared on our platform.

If I decide to go ahead with your review, I will start off with sharing this review on social media and also consider your book to be included in one of my stories on my blog. IF YOU ARE SELLING YOUR BOOK IN PRINT, I WILL BE ALSO WRITING A DAY LIFE LIFE STORIES WHERE I REVIEW EARLY LEARNING PROGRAMS AND I AM PLANNING ON GIFTING THEM WITH A BUNDLE OF CHILDREN’S BOOKS AND POSSIBLE OTHER PRODUCTS WITH THE AGREEMENT THAT THEY SEND ME REVIEWS ON EACH PRODUCT!

BOOK REVIEWS ON INSTAGRAM – NO FEES!

The first stage to sharing my book reviews is on my Instagram feed & stories and Facebook. Here is a sample of a review on Instagram.

INCLUDING YOUR BOOK IN MY EARLY LEARNING KITS – NO FEES!

I am so excited to be creating book collections for various early learning themes and would love to consider one of your books to be included in a theme! The way this works is you pitch a title to me by sending me a pdf of the cover and a description of the book or a pdf of the entire book. If I want to include your book in a theme, I will contact you. I will then write a story about the theme and include a number of books and review each one. I would need the actual book if you are selected.  I can include both print and digital books so if you only publish digitally, I can work with that as well as a lot of preschool teachers (like me) use iPads in the classroom. Once your book is reviewed, I then select a preschool and drop off the collection of books. There is a stipulation though and the classroom needs to write a review story about their reviews of the books as well! So you are getting 2 reviews in this program: one from me and one from a classroom of kiddos and their preschool teacher!

SPONSORED BLOG POST IN KIDS NEWS & REVIEWS – This is a paid service offered to all authors who have been reviewed by us!

The fees for these bookings are as follows:
