New Early Learning Hub!

written by Lorrie Holmes December 31, 2022
Bench with children

No two children are exactly the same, and neither are any two early childhood educators. Each offers their own unique teaching style & philosophy – and what might be one’s strength could be another one’s weakness. This is why an early learning hub that supports each educator’s needs is so valuable to our industry!

Written by Lorrie Holmes

The more fulfilled our educators are, the more they have to give to our children and what could be more ideal than that, which is why we are so excited to introduce you this new Early Childhood Educators Hub – to set up these educators with success, much like the kiddos in their care. This is why we are so excited to introduce you all to this new early learning hub!

Speaking directly to fellow early childhood educators, when you first began your career or completed your studies, you most likely entered this field with a lot of passion and purpose.  Most people who choose this line of work do so because they want to play a role in contributing to the first stages of development in young children while guiding and caring for them. We really are that bridge from home to society and it’s such a fun and exciting role to play. What comes with this is a huge responsibility to be our best selves. That’s why I believe that anyone who works in this field needs to find an environment where they fit in and can do their job being themselves and not trying to fit into another’s philosophy. Thankfully there are so many options out there to choose from. From early academics to play based to creative arts and nature based programs – so many different programs exist and as such, there is room for everyone to find that perfect place that best suits their ways of doing things .
In addition to your working environment, in order to thrive in this field, you also need to find that perfect role – even if it’s something you are working towards. What part of yourself do you want to grow towards? Do you want to teach the children through early academics or through play? These are two very different approaches which require two very different personalities and possibly skill sets as well. Are you more comfortable spending a great part of your day outdoors – there are also a lot of programs that offer this. Maybe you have a passion for the arts or science. When we draw from our skills, talents and experience, we are bringing that extra something to the job by drawing from deeper within ourselves. The trick then is to find a placement where your passions can be used. Luckily, many of these opportunities do exist, you just might need to spend a little more time on your job placement as opposed to trying to make more out of a job or a centre that isn’t structured that way.

One very exciting thing about working in Early Childhood Education is that in addition to working as a head or co-teacher or support staff, there are so many types of jobs in the field that might better suit someone’s personality and we are so excited to have created a hub where we can help bring out all these special qualities in our candidates with such an in depth profile to help them find that perfect placement.

Nika Gabrielle, Founder of Educator Connect
