SAVE OUR AQUARIUM

YOUTH WRITES STORY IN AN EFFORT TO HELP SAVE HER FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD PLACE WHERE SHE LEARNED HOW TO CARE FOR SEA ANIMALS – THE VANCOUVER AQUARIUM – WHERE SHE SPENT A LARGE PART OF HER YOUTH AS A CAMPER THEN A YOUTH VOLUNTEER IN THIS ONE-OF-A-KIND PROGRAM

Turning 15 this summer, Haylee will now reflect back in her own words on how the aquarium has been instrumental in supporting her personal interests and providing her with opportunities that she hopes will continue for herself and all those kids behind her who share her love for the ocean and all its creatures who live in our waters.

THE VANCOUVER AQUARIUM is one of my fondest childhood memories of a place that will always be close to my heart.

FEATURED AUTHOR!

RAINBOW MOSHO

TEEN AUTHOR & ARTIST

RAINBOW RABBIT MEETS ORACLE THE ALPHABET CREATURE

Discovering that art is her communication form of choice, artist and author Rainbow Mosho created a beautiful picture book at the age of 12. This young artist and author with autism uses art to express her emotions and to support others with the same goal. Her playfully colourful use of alliteration in this book breathes life into these lovable story characters, starting with Oracle The Alphabet Creature, who creates 26 wonderful alphabet characters to teach children how to remember the alphabet in a fun fulled way that promotes imagination as young kids connect with these whimsical story characters. This book is such a wonderful way to explore language arts with all young children and provide a little extra support and inspiration to neurodivergent children as the same time.

ABOUT RAINBOW MOSHO

Thomais V. Moshopoulos AKA Rainbow Mosho was born in Athens, Greece in 2008. She was developing like any other child. But at 30 months, she had a massive regression and autism became a part of her life. She loves movies, her family, Greece and Australia. Dyslexia also challenged her. Thomais learned to read between 2016-2017 at almost 9 years old. Thomais paints, draws and runs daily.

Inspiration. Hope. Bravery. Teen Author and Artist, Rainbow Mosho, shares her wisdom with us about being an artist and author with autism and how this diagnoses does not define her but rather challenges her to become even more bold, communicative, and inspiring through her attitude, her bravery, and her generosity as she leads the way for others to follow and find their own path to inner peace and hope. Thank you Rainbow, for bringing so much hope and light into our lives this holiday season. Learn how Rainbow expanded on the alphabet by adding her own artistic touch to it with some playful alliteration and combinations of characters that made learning so much easier for her.
